In his June endorsement of Senator Obama on Al Jazeera, Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi said that Obama's campaign has been receiving foreign contributions. The former state sponsor of terrorism took pains to say that the contributions were "legitimate" - something US authorities should investigate right away.
In the Al Jazeera video - recorded, transcribed and translated by MEMRI and available below - Qaddafi stated,
"There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency."
Senator Obama should be addressing these issues - and federal authorities should investigate Qaddafi's allegations of foreign Islamist funding for the Obama campaign.
